§ One Response to “My actual body suffocates under the weight of the body imposed upon it.”

  • Arek says:

A person in our extended group of friends is transitioning. They haven’t shared what this means for them . In the group of friend, who are mostly not queer, there is no basis of understanding about this. Yet, it seems personal so we don’t consider asking so we can understand better. This seems an unbearable tension to me. I guess writing can be for the writer to develop their ideas and to communicate with the people they see as their audience, although in the virtual world they might communicate with a wider audience than they might have invisioned. Anyway, this is helpful in making sense of things a little, because the leap to understanding where someone is coming from is too great for us, and some clues can help us make soe sense of what seems explicable to us. There are too few trans* voices that are accessabile for us to have any perspective to draw on. I am glad that you felt able to say these things.
