Autumnal, yes?

Camden LGBT Forum Evening Frolic with CN Lester

 20th September 2011 – 7pm onwards

The Constitution, Camden – NW1 0QT

Musician, writer and LGBT activist CN Lester will be joining Camden LGBT forum for an evening of musical celebration. Showcasing material from their upcoming album Ashes, singer-songwriter Lester will also be paying tribute to their queer musical icons – alt rock, musical theatre and everything in between.

Mild-mannered mezzo-soprano and music psychology researcher by day, Lester has developed a cult following based on the ‘smokey sensuality’ of their songs and their outspoken activism. Co-founder of the campaigning and support group Queer Youth Network, Lester has been showcased by DIVA magazine, PinkNews and Classic FM. Creative director and soloist for early music group En Travesti, they bring a classical sensibility to an art pop genre.

“Their impassioned, beautiful voice bathed the audience in a velvety loveliness, their charm and witty repartee with the crowd left us with warm feelings in our hearts and loins.”  – Wotever World

“…comparisons with Nick Cave, Kate Bush, and Antony Hegarty, but the truth is that any comparison is going to fall well short of CN’s unique blend of contradictions. Each song is a pop ballad with a passion for art music; at once understated and painfully dramatic; wearily overcome and cathartically empowered.” – Separatember
