Ashes

Another set of lyrics – this time for Ashes, title track of the eponymous album set for release later this year.

Stay small –

It’s only nothing from nothing.

Stay small –

We’re watching ashes as they fade.

Call out –

Go on and bellow for something –

Look round –

We’re rushing, rushing as it fades.

Call out for a quiet sound.

Fall down.

A blur in a concave ring.

Washed out.

We’re holding tight to what we’ve saved.

Deep bow

And sleep into nothing.

Press down –

(still a hollowed core can feel afraid).

Call out for a quiet sound.

Stop, now

We can’t tell nothing from nothing.

Look round –

There’s not a single mark of what we’ve made.

Call out –

Why waste ourselves in this rushing?

Come down –

We’re only watching ashes as they fade.
